Nicks new found love

Well to my husbands liking we now have a second fisherman in the house. I am not sure what he likes to do more fish or play with the minnows but Dave tells me that at least he enjoys being out there and he thinks it is "in his blood". Now, let me paint the picture for you...a nice warm fish house on the lake with a radio, bag full of toys, treats and I am sure a can of pop. What kid wouldn't like it and yes it is probably in his blood too. I hope that he continues to enjoy the "fishing" time that he gets with his Dad!!!

Kids say the funniest things...

So, after Nicholas having a couple of reactions to a variety of foods, a cat and being miserable this fall Dave and I decided that we best have him tested for allergies. It turns out the poor kid is allergic to almost everything...including dust. Do you know what this means for me...I MUST step up the cleaning or hire a housekeeper. I prefer to go with the later of the two. Anyway, we now know and knowing is half the battle, correct? As Nick and I were talking the other evening he told me that Madi was a boy. I looked at him and said "Nick, you know that Madi is a little girl!" Then I broke out the "boys have a penis and girls do not(I couldn't go as far as telling him the girl part)." He then looked at me and said..."Mom, you know I can't have peanuts because they make me sick." Well, so much for me trying to use the technical terms...back to calling it a weenie! Can you believe he is going to be 3 on December 1st!!! Until next time...wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Can we say sugar...

Well, we have made it through another Halloween without getting sick from the amount of sugar that was eaten. The kids loved every bit of it or at least I think they did. Nick maybe a little more than Madi. Maybe next year she will be all about Halloween and dressing up. She was supposed to be a princess butterfly but would have nothing to do with the wings and head piece. I guess that I can't blame her! Nick was loving every part of the evening playing his role as "Woody". It was a good night and now it is on to the next big event!

Pumpkin carving fun

As you know on Wednesday's we have the pleasure of having Jackson come and stay with us for the day. So, knowing that he will be here I try to always have a little something fun planned so that he doesn't get bored with coming here. Nick loves it and I love it. Someone to play with Nick besides his pesky little sister and pesky she is. Boy, does she love to torment him. So, this Wednesday we decided to carve some pumpkins. Jack was a pro because he had already carved pumpkins with Grandma Carol. Today is Halloween and Nicholas can't wait to go out trick or treating. He has been practicing "Happy Halloween" and "Trick or Treat" all morning. I am sure that nap time will go well with the anticipation of getting all that candy.

A Beautiful Fall Day

Another Eckhoff...

We are pleased to introduce you all to Chloe. She joined our family October 10th after Mom, Nick, Madi and myself decided to take a little drive up to Little Falls to look at some puppies. She is a Yorkie-poo that was born August 10th. We bought her from a place called "Cuddle Me Puppies" - this lady had a wonderful place. It was hard for me to come home with only one! Chloe had a little brother that was working really hard to come home with her. Nick begged us to let Chloe ride in his car seat with him on the way home but I am glad that we opted not to do that after she messed on Mom. When we got to French Lake we let Chloe go sit with Nick and he has been in heaven ever since. She follows him around everywere he goes. I must really be asking for it because now I have two that I am trying to potty train! Oh well, someday I will be complaining that I am bored!!!

Fun with Jack

We have the pleasure on Wednesday's to have Jackson Baker come and spend the day with us. Nick really loves it...gives him a break from his sister=) Plus, he looks up to his cousins. After we "relax" some in the afternoon we usually try to take a walk down to the farm to see the kitty's, pick some apples and visit with Richard and Judy. I can't forget the tractor rides the boys usually get when they visit the farm. I don't know who enjoy's it more the kids or me? Nick and Jack like to look for that "perfect" apple. Soon those days will be gone because it is Minnesota and we all know what comes next.

Fall Pictures

Taking advantage of what may be our last beautiful fall day the kids and I went out to Carl Johnson Park just west of our house and took some pictures. We had been trying to get out there for some time but Dave said to me that morning that I had better get there today if I was going to get some fall pictures of the kids. Jesse was nice enough to take some pictures for me. Tina, Nathan, Kyleah and Aubrey also took the opportunity to get some nice shots, along with Beth and Kaleb. Jesse was missing a couple of family members but she did manage to get some really cute pics of the kids that were with. Jesse just kept on snapping in hopes of getting some good ones. Of course we had to brib Nick with gum he really isn't about sitting next to his sister to take a nice picture. After we were done taking pictures we went for a little hike through the woods. At one point of the hike Izzy did turn around to look at us and let us know that she was getting a little scared that maybe we were lost, of course we reassured her that we were not. I can only imagine what was going through her head. It was a great day, the leaves were beautiful and the company was great!

Give me a break...

Ok, so I am new to this "blogging" business but I have heard from many that it is awesome and the way to keep in touch with others. So, here goes nothing!
